What the sketch shows
Task, care and delivery gigs take you beyond a screen and into unfamiliar places. A profile badge or a friendly message cannot remove every risk. Make a simple routine before leaving, and adapt it to the work, the location and the people involved.
Share your destination, expected timing and a check-in plan with someone you trust. Use private location sharing or the app's safety tools where available; avoid posting a client's home address publicly. Charge your phone, arrange your own way home and know how to reach local emergency services.
Before crossing the doorstep
For a new care or task relationship, suggest an introductory meeting in a public place when practical. If you need to assess a home, discuss a safer introduction and accompaniment in advance, respecting the client's privacy and platform rules. Delivery work often has no separate introduction, so use the authorised handoff process and assess the surroundings when you arrive. Keep the booking, scope changes and payment in the platform's approved workflow. Check the address and instructions before travelling, and use in-app contact tools where possible. Save relevant messages and know where the safety-reporting controls are. App support and any coverage still have conditions and limits.
Trust your discomfort. If the setting changes, someone pressures you or the task becomes unsafe, move to safety and contact support. In immediate danger, call local emergency services first. You do not need to win an argument at the doorstep to justify protecting yourself. Good preparation belongs beside your tools, not beneath them.
