Best freelance, gig and earning platforms in Turkey
Turkey's local platforms cover freelancing, local services, delivery and selling, but PayPal is missing. Bionluk is a Turkish freelance marketplace, Armut sends customer requests to local service pros, and Getir, Yemeksepeti and Trendyol Go handle delivery. Getir has operated only in Turkey since May 2024, and Uber received regulatory approval in June 2026 to acquire its Turkish delivery businesses. BiTaksi connects passengers with taxis, Marti calls itself Turkey's mobility super app, Sahibinden carries classifieds for property, cars and goods, Dolap is Trendyol's secondhand platform, and Trendyol and Hepsiburada host marketplace sellers. Money is in Turkish lira (TRY). PayPal stopped operating in Turkey in June 2016, and Turkish users can neither send nor receive PayPal payments. Foreign clients can instead send TRY through Wise to a Turkish IBAN by EFT, and Upwork pays out to Turkish banks in TRY. Tip: receive into a personal TRY account that is not a savings account, because Upwork cannot pay company TRY accounts and Wise cannot pay into savings accounts.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best freelance and gig platforms in Turkey?
Bionluk for freelance services, Armut for local service pros who send quotes, Getir, Yemeksepeti and Trendyol Go for delivery work, and Sahibinden, Dolap or Trendyol for selling goods.
How do freelancers in Turkey get paid by international clients?
Because PayPal is unavailable, clients abroad can send TRY through Wise to a Turkish IBAN, and marketplaces pay out by other means. Upwork's Direct to Local Bank pays Turkish personal bank accounts in TRY for USD 0.99 per withdrawal, and Fiverr offers Payoneer-based payouts, subject to Payoneer's own location rules.
Does PayPal work in Turkey?
No. PayPal stopped operating in Turkey in June 2016. Its Turkish page says customers in Turkey cannot send or receive money, access their accounts, or withdraw to linked bank accounts. Alternatives include Wise transfers in TRY and marketplace payouts such as Upwork's Direct to Local Bank.
Can people in Turkey work on Upwork and Fiverr?
Yes. Upwork supports Direct to Local Bank withdrawals in TRY, but it cannot pay into company TRY accounts, and the account name must match your verified Upwork name. Fiverr's PayPal payout is unusable in Turkey, so its Payoneer options remain, subject to Payoneer's location rules, and you must be 18 to withdraw.
Which delivery apps can you work for as a courier in Turkey?
Getir, Yemeksepeti and Trendyol Go are delivery platforms. Getir withdrew from every other country by May 2024, and Uber received approval in June 2026 to acquire its Turkish businesses. Yemeksepeti, owned by Delivery Hero, runs its own courier service called Vale for restaurants that do not deliver themselves.
